Fauci-criticism goes mainstream. Dutch farmers fight back. The nefarious intent behind '15-minute cities'
Happy Sunday, all.
Here’s a new feature of The Fresh Start Project I’d like to try: a look at some of the news stories and articles I’ve read from the past week which I think are note-worthy enough to share, along with some quick thoughts and reactions.
I hope you enjoy it, and do please discuss in the comments. I want to hear your thoughts on these issues!
An update about The Fresh Start Project: Right now, I’m working with a graphic designer to brand my Substack and YouTube channel. I’m very excited about sharing the final product with you - stay tuned!
Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has long been one of the left’s sacred cows, is no longer beyond criticism outside of right-wing media. From Newsweek:
How Fauci Fooled America. Martin Kulldorff, Ph.D., and Jay Bhattacharya, MD, Ph.D. – opinion published by Newsweek. The authors, one an epidemiologist and Harvard Medical School professor, the other a health policy professor of Stanford University School of Medicine, assert that Fauci:
- Ignored the importance of natural immunity
- Rejected focused protection in favor of mass lockdowns
- Pushed school closures despite miniscule threat to children
- Insisted on masking despite no scientific evidence that it works
- Wasted public health resources on contact tracing, which was ultimately useless (and invasive)
- Created untold collateral public health damage, as lockdowns had disastrous results for those with other illnesses, reduced childhood vaccination (non-COVID), and aggravated mental health and opioid abuse.
What is remarkable to me is that Newsweek agreed to run this.
Meanwhile, an organ of the regime is called out for covering up the lab-leak theory.
Credibility crisis: NPR insisted COVID originated naturally by dismissing lab leak theory as nonsense. Brian Flood, reporting for Fox News. "Taxpayer-funded NPR helped hoodwink the nation by dismissing the COVID lab leak theory in 2020 and pushing the mainstream narrative that assured the virus’ origins were natural."
The regime in Europe is crippling farmers in the Netherlands with strict limits on nitrogen emissions, in the name of “climate action.” Thousands of Dutch farmers are pushing back.
In the U.K., the regime is attempting a different totalitarian scheme in the name of climate action: the forced imposition of a “15-minute city.”
'15-minute cities': The newest way for elites to control and restrict human activity. Christian Mysliwiec, The Fresh Start Project. The “15-minute city” plan is presented as a way to make Oxford more walkable and eco-friendly by reducing traffic. What it really does is use surveillance tech to track citizens and restrict their movement. Using traffic cameras that read license plates, drivers are fined for driving across artificial zones set up across the city, which some say will kill local business, hurt low-income works, and will actually INCREASE pollution as people will be forced to drive outside the boundaries of the zones to avoid fines.
A glimpse of the future we’re fighting to prevent:
"Imagine that you had to live in a giant airport for the rest of your life. Surly bureaucrats: gigantic careless corporations, hyper-security. Now realize that as the future envisioned by the World Economic Forum." From Jordan Peterson.
No amount of Shake Shacks or free cellphone chargers could ever make this appealing.
7.2 Percent of U.S. Adults Identify as LGBT. Katharina Buchholz, reporting for Statistica. This is a record high, says Statistica. "Gen Z is the gayest generation in terms of self-identification. Almost 20 percent identified as LGBT, compared with around 11 percent of Millennials."
Why do you think this is?
A quote that is both inspiring but also terrifying:
“Many have had eminent qualities, yet, for want of a stout heart, they passed inanimate lives and found a tomb in their own sloth.” From The Art of Worldly Wisdom by Baltasar Gracian. Via The Chivalry Guild.
What did I miss? If you are following a story about the loss of trust in institutions, the global regime’s assault on individual sovereignty, or examples of people finding news ways to break free and flourish, then send me a message at cmys@protonmail.com.
